Yes,..and everthing I've readabout the 4.6 2v isit has weak azz rods...first to go...
Its a 4 valve though. They still have the same crappy rods though

are you seriously still on the stock bottom end? Either your dyno is reading extremely high, or you are a week or two from going boom. The stock bottom end will simply not hold 490 WHP.

What boost level are you running? What pulley? What other mods? If its holding up with the stock stuff, something isn't right.

So far as hooking, with that power level be careful with the stock IRS, its not a strong as the 03/04 cobra model's IRS. Even with MTs the real problem is going to be wheel hop... you wheel hop with that rearend and MTs and its going to break a half shaft

I had a list of my mods on my cardomain, but it doesn't list that I am all forged. I did that before I got the s/c.

I think it's time to beef up the IRS before you get to crazy. You should work on your suspension because you can have all the power in the world and it'll be useless on a stock suspension set up.

Some people will tell you to go straight to a stick axle as well... but thats not really nessicarry.

Espcially if you DD the car, or at least drive it alot, the IRS is ALOT more comfortable and handles better even when setup more for a dragracing situation. Unless you want to get really crazy, upgradedthe IRS can handle alot of power with decent 60' times. ZW99GT I beileve is cutting 1.7 60's with no problems with his IRS.

You should look into a IRS brace, and if your not running synthetic you should be. Other things to look at are the axles, they have a tendency to snap under a hard launch.

I've found that with my procharger and not spooling up untill higher RPMS I don't have a traction issue even w/ 4.10s..

I can actually launch (at 2k RPMS) and put it straight to the floor in 1st.. I know launching higher will get a better time but by starting off lower I get the car rolling (with minimal stress on IRS) and still have super acceleration.. The ONLY time I get wheel hop w/ the IRS is if I dump the cluch and do a burnie.. Other then that I NEVER get wheel hop.. I contribute that to low boost when the car is moving slower and increasing the boost once the car is moving and then allowing the DRs to bite more.. Unlike 03/04s creating lots of boost when the car is moving slowly..
