Default bottoming out

i just lowered my car about 2" all around and my o/r x is clipping every decent size bump in the road. i'm gonna jack the car up, jack up the midpipe and try rebolting it up, but i don't think it's going to stay up too much. does anyone know of any kind of hanger or something i could have welded in to pull the midpipe up out of the way?thanks

How is the ride (comfort) before and after?? I just did the same thing to my 97 thissaturday but turned around and put it back to stock the next day. It looked great but the ride sucked. My pipes set way to low to the ground for some of the places I have to drive.

the ride is ok..the look is GREAT...i can feel all the decent size bumps but to me it's worth it...we drive mustangs, you have to just deal with certain things...any ideas on a hanger?

what you said will work jack it up loosin the midpipe bolts and put a floor jack under it and go up as much as you can. I'm about 4" lowered with cats and I only have problems with speedbumps and really bad dips other than that I never have problems so that will solve it , good luck....

Sorry to say no ideas. I didn't even get that far. Once I started hearing all the noises from the road and seen how close my exhaust was to the ground I changed my mind. Sad though. I did like the way it looked. Did you replace the caster camber plates? I did with a cheaper after market syle. The only concernI ran into therewas I was I had to leave off "dust cover" (top cover on front shock) off my original shocks. So basically you could see the strut shaft. If that makes sense.

Maybe the drop was more the 2" as advertised. Happend to my bro with his BMW. He ordered a set of springs that were supposed to drop his car at most 1.5". The drop was more like 3", it went from having a gap between the 1/4panel and the top of the tire (about 1.5") to tucking the factory 15"s about 1.5".
Its possible that you got the wrong set.

SitnLo, your car looks sharp w/ that drop.

I have the sportlines and i am having the same problem. I tookmy carto the muffler shop and they put it on the lift, jacked up my mid-pipe as far as they could, and then heated it with a torch in a couple of places. Believe it or not it made a tremendous difference.
