Default 99 GT rear-end problems?

Just got home from my job( drive-thru at the Hardees) and I was talking to someone in the drive-thru that told me hes never had to do any engine or transmission touch-ups(130,000 miles) but he had thrown out his rear end twice. Is that a problem in the 99-04 GT's. He had a 99 but he also said he pushes it really hard with his stick. Launching from like 4K and always roasting the tires. Any truth to this???

Well he did say he beat it but he also said something about how he had plastic gears and that with the 99's they were ****. Never heard of plastic gears unless were talking about some remote control cars or something. Just thought I'd see if this was something to look for when I get a 99-01 GT.....soon

he sounds like a retard. and retards don't keep their stuff long. eventully the clutch packs will wear out in the rear end but most of the time is it the motor that expires well before that. but yes hard launches will speed up the process of wear but it will wearing the rest of the car down also. there is no car this doesn't happen to. get ur new mustang and enjoy.
