Default How to clean fuel injectors?

They are sitting in my garage and thought this would be a good time to clean them. Is there something i can soak them in or put in them to make sure they are fresh and clean when the motor goes back in? I already bought new orings for them....

the best way to really clean em is have em sent out and proffessionally cleaned and/or flowtested. The little filters inside the fuel injectors are so small that if they get damaged or really clogged, you're better off buying new injectors

some people pour in fuel injector cleaners and seafoam through the gas tank while the injectors are in the car and supposedly it helps break up/clean out carbon deposits, but i think thats pretty much 'snake oil' or whatever the term is for 'bullsh*t'.....generally, our cars see a lot of high revs so we tend to burn off more of the carbon buildup than a soccer-mom drivin mini van would....so if the fuel injector cleaners actually do anything at all, i doubt it would be relevant on a car that really gets romped on.

while youre injectors are out of the car anyway, you might as well get em flow tested so you dont run lean in any of the cylinders....just my $ .02

believe it or not, a mitsubishi tech once told me to take the vacuum line off pressure sensor and "run it hard"to clear out the injectors ............. needless to say, i never listened to that guy again

With all of the detergents and such in fuels these days, I wouldn't think it'd be too necessary to clean them. But if it makes you feel better or puts your mind at ease, you could flow-test them, or atleast run a bottle of (insert brandname here) injector cleaner through the first tank of gas.
Usually, from I've gathered over the years, an injector's failure mode is a drop in impedence.
