FORGED INTERNALS

FORGED INTERNALS
What are the best brand Forged Internals ( pistons, rods, etc...) to buy? I want something that will handle tons of boost and maybe asome juice. Also when you buy the forged internals what are all the accessories needed? I have heard that it is safe to go ahead and get the block machined when you go forged, if you do getthe block machined, will you need bigger pistons? Also what type of pistons do I need with a blower, deep dish etc.... Could someone help me out on what all I would need. Thanks very much for your help

RE: FORGED INTERNALS
With FI you will want a dished piston that will keep compression low.
There are a few good companys, I have heard good things about MMR and VT engines. I think I will be going with MMR for my shortblock this winter.
If you order an entire shortblock you get a new block along with the pistons etc, and its all assembled so you don't need any machine work. It can be cheaper to piece it together, but when i started pricing it out its only about 300-400 bucks cheaper IF you decide to get a new block, and I don't see any reason why not to.
I figure I will get the entire shortblock (with new block etc) and then just sell my entire PI shortblock to someone thats doing a PI swap but doesn't want to raise the compression.

RE: FORGED INTERNALS
If I bought a new short block, wouldnt I need all of the other stuff, upper lower intake, cams, etc..... It seems like it would be alot cheaper to just buy pistons, rods, and I believe I already have a forged crankshaft, then go out and buy a whole new block and everything. I have heard that the block in my car is really strong already, so I was just wanting some forged internals, so I could run alot of boost and maybe nitrous, w/o having to run on borrowed time. What would be the best brand of pistons and rods etc... to buy?

RE: FORGED INTERNALS
There is no point in buying a new block unless yours is damaged. I paid $2100 to build my shortblock. It would cost you $3300 to get the exact same shortblock from MMR and thats not including the $300 for shipping.

RE: FORGED INTERNALS
I am trying to sell my car, but a guy locally has a 96 Cobra engine in a fox body with a vortech (19psi)and nitrous (140 shot) on the stock block, internals, etc... then he went from a140 shot to 175 shot andpopped a piston. And I was wondering what the best brand of pistons etc.. to buy and how much it wouldcost to build that motor to handle all of that power, w/o having to worry about something breaking.
