Email i recieve back about the tires. First email starts at the bottom:

Hello Richard,

You could expect to see approx. 20,000 miles on average. That's
along as the sidewalls do not begin cracking prematurely, which
would not be covered by any warranty since it is a mis-application.

Rich

look, not really the performance. What would this setup do for the tread life?

Greetings from Discount Tire Direct.
Thank you for your inquiry.
The widest recommended tire for your 17x8.0 wheels is a 245/45-
17. Many people have mounted the 275/40-17 onto the OEM wheels,
however we do not recommend it due to safety and handling reasons.
One factor that people who mount the 275/40-17 do not understand
is that they are NOT gaining a wider contact patch. When the
tires are squeezed onto the wheels, the tire actually raises
in the center as creates a condition called "crowning". Decreasing
the air pressure to compensate for this does not work. The tire
is simply being compressed too much.
If we can be of further assistance, please reply to this e-mail
or contact us by either of the following methods.

for a wider tire that doesn't sacrafice tire height. Would the 275/40/17's fit
on my rim? any input would be appreciated, thanks.

i have 275 40s on mine they fight fine. Mine is a 95 though. i dont think they would be able to fit bigger on an older car, wouldnt make sense. So i would get 275s if i was you.

Are they all around on yours, or just the backs?

265/40/17

You already have the response from Tires.com 265 is what you should do.

I want to run GS-D3s all around so it looks like I will be running 245/45/17 up front and 255/45/17 out back. They run wide so a 275 really almost like a 285 and that is pushing it

I have 275's in the front and they rub the sway bar just a hair if the wheel is hard over I would just stick with a smaller tire if I were u. also the wide from tires like to make the car lane hunt which is really annoying

Why in the world would you put 275's on the front?...they are pretty damn wide. I have 235's in the front.

That's what I'm saying.....I have 275's in the rear and they are great. My 235's work/look perfect for the front.
