Anyone who says a shorter gear like 4.10/4.30 suck on the highway doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.
i should have clarified...they pull like hell and blow stock gears out of the water, but at an 80-85 mph cruise i'm at 3000 rpm, which sucks for mpg

Cruise slower. The highway speed limit is 65 usually and in some places 55. Cruise at like 70-75 and you will save money on gas and tickets.

disappointed? ifeel that once you start moddin you shouldn'teven beworried about you gas milage, i get under 10 mpg, and dont care. its all about being able to leave em in the dust once the light goes green. screw gas milage and top end. 1/4 mile is the only distance that matters. just go buy a beater to get ya to and from work, kick *** the rest of the time in the beast.

10?

That is something that I would be worried about. My dad's old 1984 Chevy Suburban got 10 MPG.

I don't know how you are losing top speed. I have had my car to 140 in 4th gear and maxed the speedo in 5th.
+1
+2 After I got my car dyno'd the guy says to me, "oh in case you were interested, your car will do 140 in 4th."

went from 3:55 to 4:10 gas milage went from 25mpg to 20 mpg and didn't pick up a whole lot on the low end side and went from 160+ mph to about 130 just don't know if it was worth it
First tell us how the speedo correction was done. Something smells like BS here
I've been wondering myself. I didn't want to sound like a *****, but 160+?

I have 4.10s and a supercharger so I haveno first gear at all but I love them. Before the charger me and my buddy had the same mods but he had underdrive pulleys and 3.73s, I would take him off the line and on the highway so I dont know why you feel slower. I didnt see much of a difference in mpg's either.
