chevys tap alot worse...i had a probe that only tapped when it was low on oil 100k+ miles and had a leaky front main...took care of that tho

i had a ****ty v6 camaro that had 61k on it when i bought it and it tapped like crazy...same with a blazer i had too so its not just fords

Spun bearings is more of a ticking sound. It sounds like a collapsed lash adjuster. Which means you have an oil flow problem.

Some Chevy motors suffer from "piston slap' which is most noticeable when the motor is cold.
The Ford 4.6 has the "rattle sound" upon start up, which is intermittent and will sometimes
be aggravated by certain brands of oil filters because of drain back valve location. It doesn't harm anything though
but can be annoying.

Blown exhaust manifold gasket? Loose exhaust manifold bolts? Header bolts are notorious for coming loose.
