Would you be scared to buy used gears? They are 373 out of a 91 5.0. Oh yea it also includes a shim kit. $100 I think the shim kit is like $40 extra. Thanks

no probs with used, although $100 is steep but I guess you get the shims - probably wont need em though

u could get new ones for 160 thats way over priced. get the new ones for 20 bucks extra. just in case

the guy who wants to install them said i need bearings and seals put in if i ever want to put the original gears back in. Is that what the shim kit is?

no shims are for setting the backlash and pinion depth. you won't need bearings and seals unless yours are bad / leaking or for peace of mind. putting the stock gear back in is no different than any other gear, like I said as long as your current bearings / seals aren't bad then its not a necessity. In all honesty though, since your gonna be paying someone to do this, it may be a good idea to go ahead and replace the 6 year old ones you have in there now. Up to you. As long as you buy Ford gears you shouldn't need anything but the gears.

do ur self and ur mechanic a favor and get new gears. dont spend $140 on used ones that is so way over priced

If the used ones were improperly installed before they might have problems that you don't know about.
