What does this thing do? JD IVE ALMOST GOT IT
I still cant get my stang to idle right after the throttle body install. I was messing around with it, and i unplugged the sensor that is connected right beside the vaccum line that goes into the plenum. It automatically idled perfect, and when i drove it, it did great with the plug out. What does that plug do? Is that the EGR? I want to get a new one but i dont know what it is.Im scared to leave it off and drive around. please let me know if u know what it is.

my bet is that you've got a bad throttle body, too much air coming in around the throttle blade, thats the only way I could see the car idling fine with the IAC unplugged (which is what your referrign to I assume, its mounted in front of the plenum towards the front bumper - the egr is mounted on the driver side of the plenum and has a vacuum line on top and it looks like a UFO (lol)).
If you take off your throttle body and hold it up, can you see light around the throttle blade? You can try to correct this by turning the idle screw, but if you do so you'll have to adjust the TPS back to .98v
