everyone is swapping out miidpipes...it cant be that hard to find a used stocker.

He will pass the sniffer and probably a visual, but it's still illegal. The chances of him getting popped for an aftermarket midpipe? Slim. The consequences? Dire. I know a few people that have and it's a $1000+ ordeal. California sucks.
To be fair, damn near every Mustang owner I know out here is running an O/R midpipe. I don't because IWILL get caught (I always get caught), and it ain't just a "fix it" ticket.
Used stockers aren't very hard to come by, but it's gonna suck to take a step backwards. BBK only makes a catted X for new edges. No H. [:@]

I have a MAC O/R H and I live in Orange County CA. I keep my old midpipe sittin in the bed of my buddies old hoopty truck. Haven't got caught with my MAC pipe on by the popo but I drive like a grandma anyways.

I busted a cat on my O/R X pipe while going over one of those dreaded speed bumps. I didn't know it was busted at the time but I kept hearing this strange rattling noise for a week or two. I finally found it out when I was changing my oil. I then took off the x pipe and gutted out both cats. Since then I have had my car emmissions tested twice with no cats and I have passed both times.In Texas they are supposed tolet the car run for 15 mins before testing. Once they did that, I was good to go. However, I will be graftinganother set of cats in when my stuff gets to Washington. The smell of my exhaust with no cats makes me nauseous.

My fault....it was an o/r x pipe and I grafted a pair of cats onto it. I then busted one of them on a speed bump. Thanks for the catch.........I guess.

nothin wrong with hallowin the cats out and puttin em back on...you will pass the visual test and maybe the sniffer...they dont sniff the tailpipes here so i dont have to worry about that part...most of the time the person workin there doesnt know what the fuc* they are doing anyway...last time i took my truck in she only entered 7 numbers in the the vin
