ive never done this while cornering because that would feel weird as all hell. my seatbelt holds me into place and my feet stay ready on the pedals.

the "dead pedal" is for shorter drivers or regular drivers to use there left foot to boost themself a few inches up out of the seat to allow the driver to turn around completely and back out safely. Try it one time it works. and for a foot rest

I use it all the time but then again mine is a auto. And Im pretty short so it does help when turning around and stuff never thought about that.
