I just hooked my fan to a switch today. It works normal with the switch off and kicks into high speed when the switch is on. I set it up so that it only works when the ignition is in the on position so I wont kill my battery by accident.

If you keep blowing the fuse this could be a back up just in case kinda thing for you. I can tell you how to do it if you want it only took me about 20 min. I will use it in conjunction with a soon to be installed electric water pump for cooling in the staging lanes.
