Aftermarket Alarm Problems

Aftermarket Alarm Problems
I installed my alarm today. I'm now having a problem, after arming the system everything looks good, but 15 min or so later the alarm goes off.
It's giving me a code 3 which is door opened, but they are shut tight and locked. I don't know what is going on
I tied the wire from the alarm looking for - voltage to both the yellow/black and gray/red wires at the GEM module..
Any clues?
P.S. The alarm works fine if I open the doors

RE: Aftermarket Alarm Problems
Alarms will go off if it sense's a change in voltage (shorting attempt), so IMO it's either a) your battery likes to send a spike in juice every once in awhile, or your wiring is faulty / shorting on something.
My first alarm did the same thing to me.. so I replaced my battery wiring / used a higher gauge all around, and it stopped doing that..for the most part

Yep, that's how they can afford to pay me...
(Oh wait, they could do that by selling animal crackers)

I did buy some relays from there to hook up the door locks
The alarm is working fine now and the best thing about it is it has a flashing blue LED instead of a red one...It matches my car [sm=smiley20.gif]
