I have a 2004 GT and the factory oil gauge started cycling on and off but there is plenty of oil in the motor. I also have an Autometer oil pressure gauge and it has the same oil pressure it always had. Any ideas on what might be causing it? I am thinking we damaged the sending unit during the motor swap.

sounds like either the sending unit, or the wiring to the gauge. have you checked to make sure you didn't damage the wiring?Could be pinched and shorting out.

No i have not checked the wiring yet. Good point. Thanks. I will do that today.

if you don't see anything, can you get to the wires on the factory gauge? You might put a meter to em and see if your getting a constant voltage or if it is jumping around etc.

It is most likely the sending unit...theres a thread on modulardepot forums about it.
