cams in my 01 gt
I have a 2001 gt and have been wanting to put new heads and cams in it for awhile. I have 105,000 miles on my car now and when i talked to the shop, they said i should just wait and just build a new killerengine once mine goes out. What do yall think and what should i build if i wait.

if you have that many miles on it and are going to go through the trouble of pulling the heads and if you got the money and know what you want route you wanna take as far as building it up.... shoot do the short block while your at it. once you pull the heads 70% of the engine pulling work is done anyways. just my 2 cents

What kind of power do want to make? And more importantly what's your budget?
I would just takemy motor out rebuild the shortblock, ie: new main bearings , rod bearings, and piston rings. Have the block cleaned, etc...Then buy some ported heads get somes cams to accomany them. And do any bolt ons needed. Then schedule an appointment to get the car tuned. You should see pretty decent numbers with that.
