Default After PI head swap...

Once I swap the heads and intake and install some 4.10 gears which I'll order shortly, I'm curious from some of you guys with experience what you would expect the '96 GT to run in the quarter. The setup will be as follows:

'96 GT vert
PI heads & intake
MAC off-road H
Flows
4.10s

Am I in the neighborhood to guesstimate 13.6-13.7 or is that too generous? I realize the best numbers will be using drag radials which I don't have yet because don't need them with a non-PI car [>:]. What do you guys think?

I would say low to mid 13's. You will be putting down a bit more power than the 99+ because your compression ratio will be about 10:1. Get some good sticky tires also. If not the gears will be no fun.

Really, low to mid 13's...I didn't think it would be that quick. I believe the HP gain for the higher compression is only about 10-15 horses but I could be wrong. That would be pretty slick though. That puts me pretty close to 12s. I'll get some DRs after I get the gears and head up to the track to find out for sure.

If i was able to drive when i went, i woulda ran a 13.9-14.0 since you have 4.10s id say low 13s are very very attainable

I may pick up some PI heads/intake today... Give me a guestimate w/ these mods:

1998 Mustang GT:

PI headswap, PI intake,
Ported plenum, Mac 70mm t/b
Densecharger w/ 85mm ProM MAF,
Steeda U/D pulleys
FRPP shorty headers (ceramic)
Mac catted H-pipe. Magnaflow Catback
4.10's
Nitto 555's (275's)

Also, what would I gain by going VT stage I's on there and how hard would th einstall be w/ the heads off of the car?

Yeah it's a 5-speed. I probably won't get to the track for awhile after I get the heads and intake which should be here by 10 days provided the shipper is on time. I want to get a new shifter before I make a pass because I've had my tranny rebuilt once and don't want to go through that again, and I also need to replace my clutch because as it is now there's no way I can powershift into 3rd. Hopefully this spring I'll be able to lay down some numbers.
