I'm just picturing your fingers turning blue as you're leaning your weight back trying to get fishing wire or whatever to cut through hard rubber. Hey, they're your fingers. Go for it. We have body shops everywhere around where I live, so it's impossible not to pass one on the way to work. I was thinking of just stopping in...

I'm in Suwannee, Ga. though.
Complete paint jobs start at $2000. I wouldn't advise, though, changing the color of you car unless it is factory black. Otherwise, whenever you open the hood of your car, all your friends will laugh at you because it is acompletely different color under there. Black, however, is much more acceptable because everything up to the 70's had a black engine bay. I think even older Ferraris are black inside the door jambs and such...

Hold a hair dryer on high heat right up to it,the glue gets hot,and the emblem comes right off. You guys make **** too difficult.

Take them off like any other emblem. Heat them upwith a blower dryer or heat gun if you have access to it and then get either fishing line or dental floss and work it slowly behind the emblems.
or if youre in the southwest like i am.. just park it outside for 10 minutes =)

I have a 00 gt. if i repaint the whole car black do i have to do anything with DMV?
yeah of course you would. you cant have a registration and insurance for a red mustang that is now painted black. i dont think they will charge you a whole lot, all you need is a VIN inspection to make sure its the same car just with a different color and they will issue you a new registration card. youll have to provide the inspection and registration card to your insurance company so they can print you out a new insurance card showing the new car color. it sounds like alot but it really isnt.

To each their own. But have you ever tried this method, if you heat it up it's easily to cut through it. If you don't, of course it'll take a little more to cut it, but you don't have to "put your weight" into it, just slice it, that's all.

Changing color is no big deal, just have to have a body shop that knows how to do it properly.

You could mask around the GT badges on the fender and paint them on the car as well. The difficultly isn't removing them, it will be putting them back on.

I dont know about anyone else but I wouldnt want a putty knife uf against my paint, especially without heating the emblem up.

Double sided tape/vinyl stripes can pull paint up in some cases if you dont heat them up first.
