5.4L Intake?
does anyone no if there is an 5.4L intake out that will fit 4.6 heads? im planning on swapping for the 5.4 and was wondering if this had come out yet. i know there had been some talks about developing one but i wasnt sure if it had come out yet? guess i can always use the good ole adaptor plate?

RE: 5.4L Intake?
A 4.6 and 5.4 have the same heads...I don't see why it wouldn't be interchangable.

RE: 5.4L Intake?
actually 5.4 heads are taller to allow for the larger stroke than the 4.6.

RE: 5.4L Intake?
The heads aren't different, the block is.
There is a spacer that adapts a 4.6L intake to a 5.4L. It's been mentioned on these very forums. |

RE: 5.4L Intake?
well if the adapter plates you speak of are from reichard racing, which did a few things for aftermarket 5.4 swaps, you're outta luck (unless you find a used set) as they recently went out of buisiness.
and a lot of 5.4 intakes that ive seen anyway have the throttle body inlet going towards the drivers side of the car, which could be an issue to consider. I dont know if all 5.4 intakes are that way or just the ones from the trucks ive seen.... just my .02 |
RE: 5.4L Intake?
I am using the lower intake off of a lightning and I'm making a block off plate and using my upper plenum and t/b from my 4.6 intake. All aluminum baby! No more of this plastic intake crap for me.
