Default replacing pulleys

How do you replace an idler pulley and/or the serpentine belt?

Will I need special tools or skills?

No, it's really easy. You need a 1/2 inch ratchet for the tensioner and a 13 mm socket (it may be 15mm) for the idler pulley.

thank you, how exactly do I release the tension on the belt and then reapply the tension after I'm done swapping the pulley?

You will need a 3/8 ratchet or breaker bar and an extension is helpful. There is a square hole in the body of the aluminum tensioner. All you need to do is turn the whole tensioner with the ratchet in a clockwise motion (while facing the motor) and the tension on the belt should be relieved. Reverse the process to put the belt back on.
