RE: Chin spoiler issues

I put about 15 pop rivets in mine. If this chin ever comes off this car................the bumper will be coming off with it. lol

No, I used only like 3 rivets and the rest nuts and bolts
Same here.
I used some of the AM rivets on the corners where it's hard to get to the backside of the bumper and stainless steel bolts
and nuts all around the front and sides.
If it comes off, the bumper is coming off with it :)

You guys with chin spoilers coming off must have drilled the holes to big. I've never had a problem.

I had push pins in mine, and for whatever reason, the heads on the pins eventually just sheared off. No idea how or why, my spoiler was just hanging off one day. Replaced 'em with bolts - problem solved.

mine was fine until a dam racoon decided to run under my car at 70mph. fixed it with nuts and bolts. i guess now if i hit another one i'll be needing a new front clip.
That's one faaaasssst racoon! Or, shall I say, "WAS".

I had a bunch of plastic alligator clips and so I mounted the chin spoiler with those clamps first and got the positioning just right. Then I used drilled holes and used those plastic rivets that came with mine. It came with a ton and I used them all. My chin spoiler has taken a few hits and I am very impressed with how good it has held up and still looks - especially when you shine it up with engine detailer. There is one scuff but it kinda makes it look even tougher!

Sorry to hear that yours is not holding up so well. Sounds like it should be easy to correct as long as you haven't broken your plastic factory nose or anything. I highly recommend buying cheap plastic alligator clips to temporarily stage the chin spoiler while you are mounting etc.

Nahh... I used the size drill bit that the directions from AM said to use.
They were tight going in FWIW :D
Those push pin things suck and every single car I have that uses them, loses them.
Heck, they even fall out of things on TOP of the car, like the trim around the radiator.

That's exactly what happened to mine.
It was fine, didn't hit anything and one day I look and the front is sagging.
I just did the stainless bolts and it's on there for sure :)

P.S. I'm wondering if AM changed the type of push pins somewhere along the way?
That would explain why some have troubles and others do not.
I got my spoiler about 3 months ago I think. It lasted up until the other day.

I lined mine up with duct tape, drilled small pilot holes, and used self tapping screws, haven't had a problem and had it over a year now.
