Need HELP finding catalytic converters

Hi all... I have the Magnaflow TRU-X with the high flowcatalytic convertersand I am being told that the driver sideCAT is toasted... well and nowI know its toasted becausethe way the exhaust sounds.... I took it to a Ford dealer to have it looked at because it was making a bad chatter noise when the car was under a load (going up a hill, accelerating from a light)... so now I am trying to find someone online that sales the replacement CAT for the TUR-X system... I havea 02 GT and I live in San Diego (org. from AZ) so no one out here in SD sales anything because messing with the catalytic converters is illegal... so nowI’m in a bind and need to fix it like yesterday and don’t know where to go or what to do....

Thanks for any help in advance!

RE: Need HELP finding catalytic converters

i searched around on magnaflows website...this universal cat should work...the stainless steel one is the only one that isaw that was a 2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet (which is what most standard aftermarket applications use) ....

I believe it is the direct replacement cat for your system. You are going to have a heck of a time smogging your car here in CA with that pipe.

The problem he is going to have with emissions here in CA isn't really the cat. It's the absence of the pre-cats that might raise some eyebrows on the visual. [>:]

I have my full factorymidpipe in the attic including cats and would probably be willing to sell them. Not sure if that helps you. They only have like 5k miles on them as I replaced them with the MAC midpipe quickly into the car's life. Send me PM if you wish to discuss.

THanks everyone for the input!!! i think i am going to call Magnaflow and ask them if there is anything special about the converters that come with the TRU-X setup and ask them what CAT i should replace it with just to be sure i get the right one so that it sounds the same and not one side sound one way and the other side sound different b/c there is a different CAT on it

jishead... i sent you a PM.

Thanks again everyone for your input!

For my Suburban I also bought Magnaflow because of the high quality. I even bought the Magnaflow cats if I remember correctly there is nothing special about them and they aren't even made by Magnaflow but they are at least as high in quality as OEM compared to the rotted out GM midpipe that I took off of my 1999 Burb with 180k miles on it.
