Default can't find correct speedo gear

Hey everyone Richie from the 05 up forums again...
...my co-worker with the 96 GT is at it again...I guess gears were installed prior to him buying it and the speedo is off...we've narrowed it down tothe gear he needs: a 21-tooth red-colored pinion gear, ford part number C40A-17271-A
I've tried ford (discontinued), motormite website, shops around town that do gear changes, and googling, but haven't had any luck..anyone have any ideas or a good link? Thanks! p.s. it's an auto if that matters...

Tell him to buy an electronic speed cal and then raise the wheels. Spin the tires and count how many times the drive shaft spun compared to how many times the wheels spun and divide the two numbers and that will give you your rear gear ratio.
