Default helpp car smoking badd

well today when i was on the highway i got on my car and i felt a loss of power when i was in 4th at about 100mph..i got off the next exit and smoke was coming from my exhaust...i think it was blueish white. the engine was running rough. i got it towed home. checked the antifreeze and oil and theres not one or the other in each. what should i do??? what could it be?? piston ring?

Sounds like rings to me. See if the smoke smells like burnt oil.

You may not want to hear this, however--having a sudden loss of power at 5k rpm make it run so badly you had to have it towed, combined with oil on a couple of the plugs (the business end I assume) sounds to me like you've got some new holes in a couple of pistons, or some very messed up ring lands and grooves...

That's a decision only you can make--Kelley Blue Book says the car is worth $3300 trade and $4400 retail, in good condition; obviously it's worth far less with a blown motor. It sounds as though you'd be paying someone to R& R the motor, so you're probably looking at $1500 to $2500 to replace the motor. That's a lot of money to put into an 11-12 year-old car that you're planning on selling, however it's probably the only way to make it saleable. An alternative if you've got a place to strip it would be to part it out on eBay, you could probably get a couple grand or more for the parts and trhen have a junkyard haul off the carcass...

an update on this..my mechanic checked it out he siad it might be a ring or it might be the supercharger itself blowing oil into the engine...anyone ever have this happen?
