Default Something broke.....

So I was at the track Friday night! Launching at 3K like always! Still on stock rear end, axles, etc! I was in the semi finals of the Mustang Shoot Out we have at my local drag strip! I launched it at 3K all night about 4 or 5 times prior to this time! When I launched I heard something pop really loud in the rear end! I was like damn! So I ran my race and lost b/c I broke out! I ran a personal best 8.59@80.39 with a 1.8X 60'! This was an all motor pass! Nothing out of the ordinary or anything! So I got down to the end of the track and went to turn to come back down the return lane and my rear end started popping really really bad when I turned! I knew something was ****ed up! So I drove it back to the pit area and had a friend listen! He said to drive it home and park it! Then trailer it to a nearby shop to have it looked at! Does anyone have a clue as to what might be messed up? It pops all the time just worse when takin a corner! It pops in both sides of the rear end! I know it's not AXLES! I've already checked them! Just have no clue what else to check! It's goin to be like a couples days to a couple weeks before my mechanic can look at it! Just give me a guestimate as to what it might be! Sorry for rambling so much I just want to know what the hell is wrong with it!

Sounds like a differential problem since it pops more in turns. What kind of tires were you running, because the rear end shouldn't have a problem with street tires. You would spin before breaking.

I have 555Rs! I love them! They stick alot better than a lot of my friends with ET Street radials! One of the better investments on my car!

It's all a matter of opinion when it comes to tires! I like the Nittos! I think the stick better than a lot of my friends that are running basically the same setup as me except with the MTs! Just my opinion tho!

I couldn't see even Nitto's sticking enough to break something.
