Default 5.0 t-56 in my '00

Hey got a question... I'm trying to square away finding a transmission for my car. I just replaced the motor 3 weeks ago and now my tranny blew up... ugh. Anyway does anyone know if a t-56 from a 5.0 or a pre-99 4.6 will work in my 2000 gt if I just maybe change the bellhousing??? I sure hope so because a goo friend of mine will sell me his t-56 and aluminum driveshaft for $350! sweet deal..... if it fits....

This is an aftermarket T-56, or the stock T-5, that your talking about?

A 56 will fit if you get the right bellhousing and shorten your driveshaft. If its a stock T-5 its worse junk than what you had before.

+1 Just swap the bell housing and shorten the drive shaft. You'll have a bad azz tranny then.
