Well, my other thread completely lost its attention so I'm moving this appropriately to the tech section...

Well, the T-56 is in...but I'm not satisfied.

Having double over drive is cool, but I think this particular transmission is a bit strange.

At idle, the transmission is extemely noisy, even noiser than my burnt out T-45 before it took a dump. The constant whirring at idle makes it a complete headache and it is audible from both inside and outside the car. When the clutch is disengaged, the flywheel(?) can be heard spinning outside the car, a constant ticking.

Aside from some engine issues, it drives very nicely. The clutch is grabby as heck but extremely driveable and light, the shifter is positive and firm, andthe trannydoesn't clunk upon quick engagement. I could have swornI heard some whining in fifth gear, though.

What can I do about this? 75 miles later, it's still a bit noisy. Should I continue to break things in? This is a rebuilt transmission with a 12 month warranty. Would adding a bitmore Dexron through the top help quiet things down?

make sure you have enough fluid in it. low fluid = noisy tranny.

How do I add fluid from the top of the transmission? Just remove the shifter and pour it in??
