I'm performing a tune up at about 53,000 miles on my 98 GT and I wanted your opinions on whether NGK IX iridium plugs and champion plug wires would be good choice. The dealer only has stock motorcraft platinum plugs, but for the same $$ I can get NGK iridium plugs, so why not? Any experiences or thoughts about this? Please post. Thanks alot

plugs are good but why be cheap on the wires

msd makes a nice wire with only 50 ohms per foo talso holley has one about 40 ohms per foot

jacobs make a great plug wire

those champions are about 5-10 times more resisitant

The wires cost $55 and they are the more expensive of the two champion wires that fit my car. I dont know what OHM/foot resistance it has though.

Whats wrong with a good set of aftermarket plug wires that you know for sure would be good. Im not saying those champion wires suck, only that even the cheap aftermarket ones are probably better.
