5.4?

ive had the same question myself.
it seems to be more of a "i want to be different" arguement than "will it make more power"....the most tried and true method with a 2V GT, is forge the internals and boost the **** out of it....
Ive seen people swap in a complete 5.4 assembly into their stang and complain they only gained a few horses and a little extra tourque. But the engine they swapped in, block, heads, cams and all was origionally meant for a truck. So of course the power band is going to be lower. Get a place like VT or MMR to get a rotating assembly plus heads and cams combo thats meant for a mustang and not for a truck, and I dont see why a 5.4 shouldnt make considerably more power than a 4.6...that is of course if money isnt really an issue....
there comes into play other things like hood clearance issues, front suspension, exhaust fabrication, but i think someone looking for a monster NA build could really benefit from the extra cubic inches....like i said before, most people that swap in the 5.4 are dissappointed in the results but are running setups meant for trucks (tons of low end tourque but not much more HP, and a shorter/lower power curve)
if you look at the new shelby and even the 2000 cobra R....given they're 4V engines....but theres gotta be a reason they picked a 5.4 block over a 4.6....what did the cobra R make? 385hp NA?.....and whats a Mach 1 make? 310?....giventhe difference isnt soley based on the extra displacement, but its gotta help....and why is GM + Chrysler building their new muscle cars with giant engines (compared to a 4.6 anyway)....frankly, more cubic inches PLUS SUPPORTING MODS = more power. I mean whats a z06? 7 liters or something retarded like that?......even an LS1 at 5.7 liters make like 300hp stock right?
maybe i'm just ranting now, but i think it would be cool to see Ford use a larger displacement engine NA and see what they could do. I've seen the crate modular 302 make some big numbers...what if ford took a 5.4 (330ci) and made a 351 modular out of it....make a 'throwback' engine with modern components....hell it worked for Dodge and their Hemi engines...which in all reality are hardly Hemi's.....but you see what i'm getting at....
if im wrong, feel free to chime in....just my .02

RE: 5.4?
actually many motors could be considered hemis. a hemispherical head locates the spark plug directly in the center of the combustion chamber making the combustion reaction more efficient. thus creating more power. an example being the the 32 valve 4.6

RE: 5.4?
in order for it to be a true hemi it must be a full half circle like the hemi isthat is y they dont call all the motors hemi's butidk about ne of u guys but i would rather have one of the gen 2 hemis rather then one of them new p.o.s.'s they put out now

RE: 5.4?
i dont know nething about mopars really but i thot it would be cool to put one of those 6.1 hemis in a prowler. i doubt it would fit but i ges with enough skill you can make anything work.
