Will these trans fit and whitch one is better?
Will the TKO500/600 or a T56 fit into my 96' GT? And which one is best recominded? (I did the search thing and couldn't find a straight answere.)

I just put the TKO 600 in my car... Twas a Bitch, D&D Performance says it was a DIRECT FIT... MY ***. After calling them 4 times, they finally said... Well you have to Modify your Crossmember.... Just a MAJOR Pain in the *** lol But no Complaints..

i have the tko 600 and all i had to do was get a new bell housing and some new mounts i have an 03 gt but it deffinatly will fit on your car...thats why they made it

BTW, I would not recommend a 600 if your car is anywhere close to stock, say not making over 450 WHP. the 600 has a long 1st gear, while the 500 has a similar gear to a stock mustang trans.
that long gear is going to be harder to launch unless your making big power. In any case, from what I have seen the 500 is identical to the 600 other than the 1st gear ratio, which is why the 600 is stronger. If you break either you must be making serious horsepower and ungodly tq.
