Default RE: Question on 5.0 pro shifter

I ordered my MGW from stangmods on sunday, got it today (friday). I know people say it is tight at first and needs a bitof break in, but it felt great first time outand the install went real smooth, though the front leftmost bolt holding on the rubber boot was a pain in the *** to get to, having a ratcheting wrench was key, the rest of the bolts are easy to get at with a ratchet and long socket extension. The throw on it is great, short but not too short, the thing feels so solid compared to stockand the gasket that stangmods throws in is awesome so you dont have to deal with any goo.

I've used the hurst shifter and tri-ax in a couple of my buddy's cars, that's why I went with the 5.0, they've tried it in mine and seemed to like it better too. It's up to you though, all in what you want. The only thing good I can say with the 5.0, is I've never missed a gear even while racing it. I missed with the hurst though.

Default RE: Question on 5.0 pro shifter

I just installeda Pro 5.0 shifter a couple of hours ago.
This is my 2nd one, I had one in my 1990 GT, and I just put this one in my 2002 GT. I like 'em, I sell Saleens and Shelby Mustangs(both have "short throw shifters from other brands)and I have to saythe Pro 5.0 feels like what a after market shifter should feel like. (If that makes any sense). I would go to a car show or something and ask around, who's got what and such. See if some good guys will let you row though some gears. (parked of course!). Just my .02
