Default IAC Issues

Hello All,

I just started up my car and the idle started going out of control. It would rev up and down really fast. The first thing I thought was the IAC was dirty,so I took the 2 phillips head screws out and pulled the electrical connection off and when I pulled the black plastic thing off it justhad onehole in it. My question is did I really pull the IAC off orwasI mistaken? I did a search and I couldn't find a picture of the IAC on a 2002 GT.
The plastic thing that Ipulled off wasattached to the throtle body. If I did pull the right thing off do I just spray brake cleaner/electrical cleaner in the single hole? Anyhelpwould be greatly appreciated.

You removed the throttle position sensor--the IAC is attached to the plenum, it's the larger silver thing to the right of center in this photo...

Ok thank you. I went back and cleaned out the IAC but the car still revs irratically. I have an auto and when I switch gears to reverse the revs really get out of control. Does anyone know what the issue could be. I changed plugs 6 months ago so I know it is not that. It is not throwing a code. Anyone have any other ideas.

Just an update,I found out I had a vacum like wwmost said. It was in the PCV hose. I had to order from Ford. Would that cause a slight oil leak on top of the passenger side valve cover? Thank you for your help.
