When i start my car i get a loud squealing noise that is eaither coming from my procharger or my alternator. i think that it is coming from my alternator because when i turn the a/c on it gets louder. also while driving it goes away after awhile. when i finally got ome from driving it wasnt making it so i parked and let it idle and still didnt make noise. i turned on the a/c and it started again after it make a click-like the alternator engaging or something. any suggestions. i have a 96gt and the alternator is the original. i think its time to get a new one.

More than likely its just your belt slipping. Mine does the same thing when I first turn on the a/c. I replaced the belt and it went away. Once the belt got worn again the noise returned. Does the flat side of your belt look really slick/smooth?

Well, I'm not sure if you run with 1 belt or 2 belts on a s/c vehicle, Im assuming just 1... I would order another belt of or choice and if that doesnt fix the squeeking then you probably have too big of a belt... or If you have too small of a pulley you might have to upgrade to an 8 rib pulley.

I doubt thats whats wrong, Im sure you just need a new belt.
