Car wont start after instl. of K&N cold air
I just bought a new k&n cold air kit for my 02 mustang gt. mods: Mac o/r H pipe, and Flowmaster american thunder cat back. After following the directions i go to start my car. I get nothing. SAme results on the next 3-4 attempts. On the fifth try the engine kicked, rough idle, and then shut off. I took the K&N out and re-installed the factory air inake, wouldnt even kick over. If anyone has any advise it would be greatly appreciated. My father thinks its the MAF, but i have no idea.

Is everything plugged in? There should be no reason why your car wouldn't start. Is your battery dead? If it's not, does your starter crank the engine? We need more details... FYI, if your MAF was unplugged, your car would still start.

check all your vacuum lines and hoses... then make sure the air filter housing bracket thing is solidly closing the gap between the air filter housing and air inlet tube, sometimes its a little PITA. id say a vacuum line isnt hooked up/hooked up right.

when you install the new k&n air system arent you supposed to turn the key to the on position three times before you start it. i think i had to do that for my CAI when i first got one. try it and let us know. oh and as someone said, check all the hoses cause one of mine wasnt on tight and my car idled rough and then died. good luck
