2000 Mustang GT and the stiff clutch/shifting
As you guys who own 2000 Gt's know the clutch and shifting is very very stiff.
Just wondering, if putting in a aftermarket short throw shifter changes that stiffness in the shifting so it's soft like the 03's and 04's?
And does anyone know why the 2000 mustangs have such stiff clutches?
Thanks.

not sure about the short throw changing anything. mine is very stiff also and can be a pain in the azz sometimes. as far as the cluch goes its just the clutch with a cable attached so its not guna be a soft clutch.

My 00 GT has a stiff clutch as well. I put an MGW and no change in pedal effort(as expected). Could try a steed firewall adjuster kit but I dont think that will help much. Could get a new clutch. As for me I will be getting a SPEC stage 3. The MGW did help with more accurate shifts + FASTER shifts which is a nice plus. When you put in gear it is solidly in gear and down to 2nd shoots right in same with 3rd. MGW FTW!

I dont think the 03's and 04's are much softer. Mine is very stiff makes for a quick release i like it though give the car a more powerful feel to me. Kinda difficult to drive if you arent used to it. My friend has an 04 and he clutch is much lighter than mine for some reason its stock too. I hear mcleod clutches lowers the pedal effort.
