98 z/ta are not all that great they only had like 275 hp and even less tq so what makes it all that great? Civic dude no problem. cloud nine must be reality because they are not any better than a GT
Thanks... but... I must correct this.

93-95 LT1 has 275
96-97 LT1 has 285
98-99 LS1 has 305
00-02 LS1 has 310/325

true the cobra gets more respect but if you put 2 grand in your gt you could run cobra times. they are cars that beat gt all the time but as far as i'm concerned when i'm driving nothing can touch me just pride in my car.

GTs are 14.0-14.5 cars
LS1s run in the 12.9-13.5 area.
You just can't deny that. Maybe you have incountered some bad drivers, but it is a FACT that those cars will rape a GT stock vs. stock. Doesn't mean they are any better, but they sure as hell are faster. Before my stang (and before my previous F-150) I had a 98 Z28, so I'm quite aware of what they are capable of.

And FWI, most LS1s make 300+ hp to the wheels. While GTs are in the 225 range.

The LT1 F-bodies on the other hand are a closer match to the GTs.

there is no stock z28 or trans am running low or even mid 13's in florida. the best time i have seen a stock z/ta run is a 14.0 not a 12.9 to 13.5. they don't have the torque to do it.

Im sorry to inform you, but the ls/lt1 has always had *** stompin torque. The 02 has 340 and the 97 has 335. Those cars cant be touched by stock gt's from the same year. Dont get me wrong, I love my gt more than any car on the road, but those cars are just fast. thats all there is to say.

wow look at that mis-information fly! FWIW I've yet to see a z28 (or SS or WS-6 for that matter) without major mods run less than a 13.5 at the track. I lined up against one last time I went who had lid (dunno wtf that meant) and exhaust and he ran a 13.50@105.

I'm still curious how the corvettes I've seen dyno'd (LS1) put down 280-300 rwhp but the de-tuned z28 and ws-6 supposedly put up larger numbers.

Don't get me wrong, they can be beasts and i'm sure there can be factory freaks but let's be real here people. These things aren't the end-all to cars, there's reasons why they went belly up.

Sorry, no mis information here, just because you haven't seen it done doesn't mean it hasn't happend over and over again.

But I will edit this post to say the car is capable of those times to be fair.
