I've heard bad things about the 99, but I have never really looked into them. With the money saved buying a 98 you could put that much more into it and make it faster than the 99, but thats just my opinion. I have a 98 Cobra and I love it!!

I think most 99's were recalled. I think they replaced the intake, some part of the exhaust, and did something with the computer. A 99 with the recall done will make 320 hp 317 tq, if not more.

96-98 cobra = 99 cobra. They run within a tenth of each other in the quarter mile and the fix wasn't a problem persay, the 99's new intake and exhaust manifolds didn't make the power increase that Ford claimed, doesn't make them a slow car.............
