Default CC plates guys

i installed them yesterday but my question is how tight is the strut tower top bolt supposed to be?? the torque spec is 26lbs but i cant do that without the strut shaft spinning so i have to hold the strut shaft with a flathead screwdriver (slit on top) and use an end wrench to tighten it...sooo basically as of now there is a gap between the spacer and the nut that holds the top on...should they be tight/touching??

also what spacer configuration did you guys use with H&R SSs

i used 1 long on top and 2 short 1 long on bottom (MM 4bolt kit)

this is the only way i could get the hood clearance

just snugg to whatever the torque specs are. As long as you get the hood clearance you need and the you can get an alignment within the specs with your setup you should be set.

thats the problem...i cant get a torque wrench on it because the strut shaft will just spin...the top of the strut has to be accessable so i can put a screwdriver on to keep it from moving...

i guess what i really need to know is did you tighten the nut all the way down to the spacer???

The specs is 74 ft.lbs. If you use a crow's footset at a 90° angle to the torque wrench head you will be able to torque it properly (as the offset from the torque center will be more or less along a radius). However, 74 ft.lbs is pretty damned tight so just make it pretty damned tight and you'll be OK...

Conventional wisdom and scuttlebutt says 2", however my '03 is dropped about 1-1/2" in front and the driver's side is out of adjustment range at 1.2° negative camber (spec is around -1°). CC plates are going on this week...
