Default Building an Engine

As some of you may know I came over from mopar and am a novice to Ford. I may be a novice to ford but I have been building engines for about 20 years now.

Here is my question(s): I will be getting a 05 GT in a few months, and after I run the stock engine I want to build a replacement engine for it,I want a bullet proof engine that makes about 350 h.p at the crank! Do I have to stick with the 3v engine or can the 05 accept an eariler 4v engine? How would you Ford experts go about building the engine I am describing? I may want to add a S/C,so it will have to be able to accomidate that! I have built many mopar engines that I would consider bullet proof i.e:402 stroker super charged(9 psi of boost) in a Plymouth Duster, and it gave me 275,000 mi. with no problems. Would I be able to see that out of a 4.6?So let me know what you guys/gals think!
thanks

350 hp at the crank isn't going to require a built engine. The 05 3v should easily make 350 at the crank with just boltons.

The engine comes with 300 stock.

A bolton 05 will last just as long if not longer than a stock 05. The only thing that matters is how much you beat on it.

i know I can get the 350 h.p with bolt ons! I am asking for future reference, when the engine in the car gives out and I have to replace it! When I do replace the engine I want to build the new one myself, and basically I was just asking who makes the best internals for the 4.6? I want to buils a really strong engine with just slightly more h.p than the stocker! Sorry for the confusion!

P.S:Is there anyone offering headers for the 05 yet?

If you want to really make some HP and torque, heres the deal.http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/...1f8e01721d86ce
Go with the stroker kit, ofcourse it does cost a nice penny but def worth it. Now I dont know awhole lot about the new 3v heads, but im sure they could use some porting along with a nice set of cams, not sure if anyone makes them yet either. Definately strok that thing if you have the cash though.

So your worried about when the car hits a minimum 150,000 miles? I dont think you have much to worry about for quite a long time. Anything we could say now wouldn't mean anything by the time you have to worry about it.

Build your engine now. Sell the stock one while its got low miles. someone would pay big bucks if it would work in a 99-04

I am not worried,I am looking foward to it I was going to take the advise from you guys and read up on it and kind of "learn the ford way" you could say! Also if I check into it and its not too expensive(like building a HEMI,it would make you sick to know how much $$$ it takes!) I would build the engine after I pay the car off(by the end of next year) then drop it in and save the orignal engine for the years on down the road!

Thanks to whoever posted the header link! Does anyone know if they have done any testing with thoose headers? what kind of numbers did they get? I would love to install a new set of headers, but I will not put down a grand for a set that dosnt offer major gains,I would rather build a set!
