Default Coil Packs

Going to be putting the EDIS-8 ignition system on my car and
wanted to get yalls thoughts on your style coil packs.

I will be using coil packs from a 96-98 Mustang.

Not a big fan of MSD but, is anyone running MSD coil packs with no problems?
stick with Motorcraft? any other brands?

Thanks

Default RE: Coil Packs

The coil packs from the '96-'98 Mustangs are good. They work fine. However, the coils that are found on '99-'04 GTs deliver spark faster at higher RPMs than the older style coil packs. It's just another benefit of having coil-on-plug. But to answer your question, I ran MSD coil packs and wires on my last 4.6 and they were fine. I wasn't putting out crazy high numbers, though. I've also heard good things about Accel coil packs. I think they're cheaper, too.

Accel's coils are good. They are much cheaper than msd and perform the same.
