Default MGW Shifter slight rattle under acceleration? Normal?

I've always known that the MGW was a noisy shifter, but I never noticed this sound that's coming from it now. it's somewhat of a rattle sound under acceleration and higher RPM's in any gear. mostly noticeable on the highway. is this normal? if I hold the shifter the sound goes away almost 100% unless I really get on it.

is there clearance from the shifter to the plastic trim piece? I have a hurst and have a problem with it touching, and it just magnafies all the tranny noise through the plastic trim piece, it gets a lot quieter if I pop it out but then it looks stupid.

My shifter has always rattled I just installed my MGW on tuesday and I didn't have a rattle for about 2 days. And just today it started making the rattling sound. Mostly when I accelerate and it's like a fast ticking sound.

I had the same problem with my Pro-50 after I installed it. I bought the gasket kit for it and it went away, it was only 10 bucks (well worth it). The gasket was for where the shifter mounts to the tranny and one gasket was put between the shifter arm and where it connects to the shifter. With enough time you could probably make your own easily.
