stock for stock, dyno for dyno, a 4v will make more low end TQ than a 2v in cobra form, regardless of year.

It doesn't feel that way, but its only because they pull more RPM up top.

well when I pulled over to the side of the road and i figured i check my oil, the freakin thing was empty! i was in shock because i changed the oil by the book about 2,000 miles ago and the car has never burned oil or had any leaks what so ever! i dont have a clue as to where all the oil went. So this is why im guessing its blown, its in the shop right now after being towed and there going to take a look at it tomorrow im guessing, but the tow truck dirver is a friend of mine and fellow mustang enthuisiast as well as a mechanic and he thinks its a bottom end knock and that its shot, what else could cause the motor to knock loudly like that? thanks for the help!
The low oil thing happened to me too, spun the rod bearings. I ended up getting an 03 shortblock for 650 shipped. Slapped my 99 heads back on and im good to go. I should have it in the car and running by next weekend. Id start looking for a cheap stock shortblock if youre willing to do some work yourself.

Yeah, if money is a big issue, go back to stock, but if not, nows your chance to get a good forged block in there and have a nice foundation to build on. And since the 3v engine in the 05s and up has come out, the prices on a lot of the 2v engine, including blocks, has dropped a little. Still costly though.
