Everyone on here will tell you that your wasting your time. But, to help here you go. Will work with stock exhaust and is fairly cheap compared to many others.

the only thing that will break your bank is the installation, unless you do it yourself.

Any of the "shorty" style headers will fit without modifications to your exhaust system. Shop around and compare prices.
Speed's right though, you may get a lot of greif on here about shorty headers.

i know..i was thinking i would get the headers that connect to my stock exhaust and then get a mac cat back system that connects to the stock headers...since the headers fit the place of the stock ones i shouldnt have a problem connecting the headers to the mac system? Right? or no?

If you go LT, MACS are the only ones I know actually fit without modification for a convertable. I have the set/up. Pain in the *** though to install. Shorties are fine, but I personally think a waste of money for the little gains. LT will not allow you to use the stock midpipe and will cost you al least another $200 for one. I have a prochamber. The headers cost $400, the midpipe $189. I got lucky with labor $300. I know you want to save money, but you better off saving for something you really want down the road thats going to gain you real power. Alittle advise from someone who has made allot of wasted purchases and money.

If all your going to get is shorties your not going to get anything (hardly) for a performance gain anyway. Save your money, and since your on a budget just get a aftermarket midpipe and a catback, you will see better gains with this horsepower AND sound wise than if you get just shorty headers and a catback.

Blue is the cat back and red is the mid pipe

2000GT4.6 is correct, and cost wise it will save a little for now. Installation cost is a hell of a lot cheaper for the mid pipe and catback also. Probably do it yourself.
