+1 on this....
FRAM's PH brand is the WORST filter to put on ANY car. The end caps are made of Cardboard (Possible collapse) and the check valve leaks dirty oil right back into your pan....These are just a couple of reasons why not to use FRAM. Wix and K&N are probably the best filters to use but, Motorcraft, Purolator, and NAPA GOLD (believe it or not) are some great filters at a great price.

Just my two cents. Follow this link to a good article on oil filter testing. Might
change your mind about Fram oil filters. It changed mine. I use nothing but Mobil 1
filters now.

them has made 200,000 miles or better. In fact I have a 92 Caprice about to cross 1/2 a million miles on original engine and tranny.
The real secret is 3000 mile oil changes and use a QUALITY OIL.
All my cars except stang and Jetta use/have used Castrol GTX dino oil.
Stang is Mobil 1 or Penzoil Full Synthetic. I use Motorcraft or Mobil one filter
Jetta is an oddball (5w-40) and uses Castrol Syntec. I use VW filter (PITA to get others off)
Yes the Fram lower end filters are garbage, I agree but the real secret is 3k oil changes.

Always use Mobil One full synethic( 6.5 quarts) and a K&N oil Filter . I change the oil filter every 3K but the K&N I was told to change every other time cuz the filter can be used twice, i still clean it out and drain it tho.

I'm a technician for ford, and ford recommends 5w for the modulars. We (in Florida) are putting 5w-20 in all modulars. Reason being is because clearances in the modular engines are so tight its better to use a lighter oil.

5w20 is the oil the mustangs call for. says on the oil cap....

1/10 of one mpg fuel economy is why Ford is using 5W-20 in your engine. Pure and simple.
5W-30 is perfectly fine to run in your engine. Nothing in the 2V internal toleranceswas changed from 2000 to 2001+.
Don't drink the Kool-Aid!
