Default Flywheel Q ?

I have an 00' GT. I'm goin to be installing a Spec Stage 3 Clutch. I was wondering is it worth the extra $$$ for the billet alluminum flywheel, or should I just get the steel one, or should I just resurface the current one I have? Also I was wondering will I need to get a firewall adjuster kit? If I get this clutch for my car and I want to upgrade my trans will this clutch work for other trans? Please POST. Thanks everyone.

I switched to a billet aluminum flywheel and Centerforce DF clutch at the same time. I didn't really notice a difference in performance w/ mine. Acceleration felt the same. I did notice that the enginewould rev faster offright off idle thought. The biggest change was in thedriveablity of the car. Totally different as far as stop and go traffic. The light flywheel has way lessinertia to help you get moving when the clutch grabs.... pair that with a heavier clutch pedal, and clutch that wants to grab and hold as soon as it touches. It makes for a touchy feel.At first, it's easy to stall or chatter the clutch if you're just trying to ease into it to move up 15 feet and stop. You get used to it though. That's the reason that my wife hates to drive my car.... and I'm ok with that!

I have DF clutch and aluminum flywheel and aluminum d/s also, but mine feels great... the clutch is still smooth and it definately grabs way better....i also have adjustable cable, firewall adj, and quardant so maybe that helped....performance wise not a whole lot and i havent been able to lay on the pedal b/c its a brand new motor so....

def. add the alm. flywheel. less rotating mass = less hp loss through drivetrain = more rwhp

you need to make sure you have either an internal balanced flyeheel or external balanced? I dunno if all factory engines are externally balanced and just aftermarket engines are internally balanced? But I would check into that!

You have a 10 spline input shaft of your t-45, youd have to make sure your upgraded trans has a 10 spline input also to be compatible. Personally, Id only go with an aluminum flywheel if it was a drag only car or if you had a forged crank, h beams and forged pistons to off set some of that weight. If your doing high rpm stuff then a billet steel or aluminum flywheel might be a good idea. Otherwise keep the stock one.
