Default My BBK Underdrive Pulleys

I just got my BBK underdrive pulleys, they are not in my car, but I have them. I have been hearing that Steeda UDs are a lot better. Should I return my BBKs and get Steeda's or will it not make that big of a difference?

Unless they have added a new crank pulley the BBK's are piggyback pulleys. This means you have to bolt the stock crank pulley to the underdrive pulley to have a harmonic balancer. The Steeda pulleys have the harmonic balancer built in.Who needs the extra weight on the end of the crank?

The only way you can see the HP with pullies is to get your car on a computer you will not feel the difference. My car Rev's up faster.

In my opinion get a different kit, piggyback isn't the way to go.

You get three pulleys with the piggybacks pulleys. The difference is the crank pulley does'nt have the harmonic balancer built into the pulley. You need a harmonic balancer to keep harmonic frequencies in control. The harmonic balancer in these engines keeps the crank from twisting and untwisting like a spring by storing the energy pulses from the pistons.Unchecked, these pulses will eventually cause the crank to break. It's just like bending a paperclip back and forth untill it breaks, only a twisting force would be used to break the crank.Look at the harmonic balancer as a rotational shock absorber.
