p0340... iknow this code by heart because it gave me hell! even if the alt passes the load and voltage tests,i'm betting it'sthe problem also

+1 for alternator. I had a problem like this at Ford. I put in two cam position sensors and when it came back the third time someone told me to replace the alternator. After that, the car never came back.
