Default A/C

The other day i decided to do a really long burn out in my 2000 gt. I ended up doing several b/c i already needed new tires and figured i would have some fun with them. Well after i got done with one i noticed my car was making a strange noiut i ignored it b/c i was having too much fun. When i got home i noticed my a/c compressor was constantly coming on and off. It would click on thn make a long hissing sound. I Figured out that the clicking was the compressor coming on and off, but the hissing is the clutch slipping on the front of the compressor. I put in two cans of charge and it worked for a few days, but now the car is doing the same thing. As i drive it comes on and off . Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong and how i can fix it?

If it keeps on cycling like that it is usually low on freon or the cycle switch is bad. Sounds more like its low if you put some in and it worked for a few days, probably the front seal on the compressor but you should check the entire system, good luck.

my ac clutch went out a few weeks ago. the ac would cut in and out if it was on for a while or under hard acceleration. loosen the belt and try to wiggle the ac clutch. if it makes grinding noises or wiggles it's no good.

+1 the seal would allow the tetrafluoroethane (what is used inplace of freon) to evaporate causing the compressor to continuously "click" trying to compress the remaining amount. not only is this bad for your compressor but its also bad for your blower motor.
