Default Imrc open?

My cobra engine is throwing me the p1519 code. Intake manifold runner control stuck open.I revved up the engine andI can hear somthing that sounds like its opening but the cables arent moving for the imrc. The car is also lagging badly. What shouldI do?. Im thinking of opening it up and cleaning but that probably wont fix this and Id like to know what part has mostlikely gone out before I take the chance of not being able to drive it for a while.

check the linkage that opens it and such and spray it with some gunk or brake cleaner or something to get grease and dirt off of it. i cant remember if its mechanical or electronic.... but the car is bogging down because its getting way to much air at once..... those runners close some to give better bottom end..

I would take the intake off and clean the IMRC's they gum up pretty good and don't open up at 3250 rpm's like they should. I have mine stuck open right now because the actuator went out on mine so even afterI cleaned them they still didn't work[:@]. another option is a IMRC delete. This is what I plan to do when I get a chance Click Me

He is bogging becasue he is not getting enough Air. The IMRC's are always closed untill the RPM's get above 3250

It's not that he's getting not enough air! He actually is getting too much! The purpose of the IMRC valves is to creat turbulence at lower rpm's for a faster cleaner fuel cunsumption to help with lower rpm's. Here's what I found. Read #8

IMRC's are on butterfly valves they are closed until you give it gas and get above 3250 rpm's engines need more air when the RPM's increase his car is falling on it's face because the valves are stuck closed not letting the more air it needs to make more HP. Just get the valves to open and close properly or delete them properly (meaning you will want a taller gear because you loose low end torque)

Right now my tuner saysI have 331 HP but the problem is that they are staying open , or at least thats what the computer says. The car is only going 5mph over its usual speed at theplace where Itest my car. I normally hit 80 with my 2v and with the extra 115hp im only getting 5mph? If I do gears will it compensate for the lag enough to do the delete?Im considering 4.30's. or 4.10's
