How to replace wheel studs?
2 of my wheel studs/lug nuts are stripped..When I was getting my new tires today they told me to replace them they would have to open the diff. cover and drain the fluid then unclip the c clips...The said this because the ABS module is right behind the stud plate thing....Has anyone ever done this? are these people full of **** or what?

RE: How to replace wheel studs?
I havent changed the studs, but I did change my rear gears last weekend, and getting those c-clips out was a bitch at first. I didnt know that you had to remove the ABS sensor, and after we did it was much easier.
I just looked at a few pictures I took of before I pulled out my axels, and it looks like you just may have to take them out to change the studs...Looks like back of the assemlys in the way to put the new studs back in...

Yep, they're telling you the truth. I just did it. Take the plate off the back of the chunk. Drain the fluid and take the 8 mm keeper bolt out and remove the pin. Push each axle in as far as it'll go, after you remove the rear breaks. Take out the c clips and remove the axles. Use a puller to get the abs rings off. Replace the studs and heat the abs rings up with a torch. Once they're really hot use a pair of pliers to just slide them back on. They'll go with no problems at all. Once they cool down they'll grab onto the axle and put everything back together.
